FUNERAL RITES ARE TODAY FOR MRS. MAYER, 95 - Kaukauna Times, 8-1-1978.

Mrs. Evangeline (Eva) A. Mayer, 95, wife of Dr. Edward A. Mayer who practiced 
optometry and operated Mayer Drug Store here for more than 50 years, died 
Saturday, evening July 29, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at St. Mary's Catholic 
Church with the Rev. John Blaha officiating.  Interment will be in the parish 
cemetery.  Mrs. Mayer had resided at 113 E. Fifth Street.
 
She was born April 22, 1883 in Argusville, North Dakota, and had lived in 
Kaukauna most of her life.  She had been employed as a stenographer at the 
Johnson Fish Company, Green Bay, prior to her marriage.  Her husband had 
practiced optometry and operated Mayer Drug Store for more than 50 years prior 
to 1949.

Mrs. Mayer was a member of Sacred Heart Court No. 556, Catholic Order of 
Foresters, the Altar Society of St. Mary's Chruch, the Lady Knights of 
Columbus, and the Kaukauna Golden Agers.
 
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Evangeline Proper and Mrs. Patricia 
McCarty of Kaukauna, Mrs. Arthur (Corinne) Hyde of Beardstown, IL, Mrs. George 
(Joan) Grogan of Santa Rosa, CA, Mrs. Donald (Charolette) Mayo of Saipan and 
Mrs. Harry (Carol) Watson of Citrus Heights, CA; 36 grandchildren; 28 great-
grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death 
by her husband and two sons.  

The Greenwood Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
