RICHARD B. GOSS, merchant, Durand. Son of Philip and Huldah Goss; was born in Huntington, Luzerne Co., Pa., Sept. 30,1826. He was employed as clerk in a store at Tunkhannock, Pa., for a few years, and then came to Springfield, Ill., and engaged in railroad bridge building for about a year; then returned to Wilkes Barre, Pa.; engaged for a while in a store; then went to farming and hotel-keeping, until he came to Wisconsin, in 1864, and settled in Durand. Here he was employed a short time as clerk, by George Tarrant, until he commenced in the mercantile business for himself. He was married, Aug. 11, 1861, to Miss Rosina Hille, of Wilkes Barre, Pa., formerly from Wurtemburg, Germany.
