Submitted by: Kent Robarge 29 September 2003 ************************************************************************ Obituary of Mrs. Anna Tanz (date and newspaper unknown) "MONDOVI Mrs. Anna Tanz Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Anna Tanz from her home and the Norwegian Lutheran Church by the Rev. A.G. Hemer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, this city, with burial in Oak Park cemetery. Mrs. Tanz was born Anna Linna Ronneberger in the village of Lindenkrenz, Province of Thueringid, Germany, March 27, 1859. As a girl of 10 years she came with her parents to this country, locating in the town of Albany, Pepin County. June 21, 1880, she was married to Bernhard Tanz. They made their home on the Tanz farm in Albany until 10 years ago when they retired from farming and moved to this city where they resided until Mr. Tanz' death May 10 of this year. Nine children were born to them, one of whom, Albert, preceded the parents in death. In 1930, Mr. and Mrs. Tanz celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Tanz has been in poor health the past year and died at the Mondovi hospital Saturday. She has spent the most of the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Rohrer at Cochrane. She is survived by the following children: Frank of Brunswick, Eau Claire county; Minnie, Mrs. Leo Carroll, Detroit, Mich., William, Mondovi, Edward, Detroit, Mich., Oscar, Mondovi; Mrs. Ida Rohrer, Cochran; Hilda, Mrs. Glenn Hardy, Mondovi and Walter, Cleveland, Ohio and 11 grandchildren."
