and later 2nd lieutenant.  Took part in the Aisne, Marne, St. Mihiel, and Meuse-
Argonne offensives.  Gassed in the battle last mentioned.

E, 405th Telegraph Battalion.  Trained at Camp Lewis, Wash.  Overseas April 23,

action at Lorraine, Champagne, and Chateau Thierry.  Wounded March 6, 1918 at
Lorraine.  Floyd has the distinction of being the first Wisconsin boy to be
cited.  He received a Personal Citation and Croix de Guerre for bravery under
fire and valor in action March 6, 1918.  Promoted to corporal.
