Obituary: Portage County, Wisconsin: Charles BUCK Stevens Point Daily Journal May 9, 1899 Died at Amherst Chas. Buck, one of the earliest settlers of Amherst, died at his home in that village Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The deceased has been a resident of the town of Amherst for about 43 years. He is a little over 80 years of age but had always been quite hearty up to about a year ago. His death was caused by a general breaking down in consequence of oldage. He leaves a widow and three children, Mrs. Emma Moberg of Amherst, Fred Buck of Michigan and Mrs. Mason of Sioux Falls, Iowa. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:30p.m. Quite a number of old frriends from this city will attend. Mrs. Peter Grover went down today and Dr. and Mrs. W.F. Atwell, Mr. and Mrs. T.W.
