Case, former Stevens Point woman who died at Milwaukee last Friday after a lingering illness, and whose body was brought to her home at Fond du Lac Saturday morning, was held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the First Presbyterian church in that city. The Rev. W. H. Fischer officiated. The body was accompanied to this city, arriving here Tuesday noon. It was take directly from the Soo station to the Forest cemetery, were [sic] a final service was conducted at the grave by Rev. R. J. McLnadress [sic] of the Presbyterian church of this city. +++ Obituary: Myrtle Case, Portage County Wisconsin Stevens Point Daily Journal 2 Jun 1919, p 4 Mrs. W. J. Case Mrs. W. J. Case of Fond du Lac, a prominent resident of that city and a former Stevens Point woman, died at the Muirdale Sanatorium in Wauwatosa last Friday after a lingering illness. Her death was caused by a vascular trouble which developed from pleuro-pneumonia with which she was afflicted last fall. Mrs. Case, whose maiden name was Myrtle Upthagrove, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Upthagrove, and was born in Lisle, Broome County, New York 43 years ago. She came to Wisconsin with her parents at the age of three years, the family locating at once in Portage county. She was married in this city to Mr. Case 23 years ago and they lived in Stevens Point until the divisional shops of the old Wisconsin Central were moved to Fond du Lac. Mr. Case was employed as a machinist here and is now engaged in similar work for the Soo at Fond du Lac. Surviving relatives include her husband, two brothers, Fred Upthagrove, 1018 Michigan Avenue, and Frank Upthagrove, 525 Dixon street, this city, and three sisters, Mrs. C. S. Webster of Buena Vista, Mrs. Roy Burdett of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ella S. Dyer, 320 Wayne street, this city. The late Mrs. Case was a member of the Presbyterian church of Fond du Lac, and also held membership in the Eastern Star Order and the Royal Neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Webster and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Upthagrove left for Fond du Lac Sunday afternoon and will accompany the remains to this city for burial arriving here Tuesday noon.
