Obituary: Portage County, Wisconsin: William E. GREEN Stevens Point Daily Journal, March 21, 1899 Funeral of W.E. Green The funeral of William E. Green, who was killed Friday night, was held from his late residence at 312 Center street at two o'clock Monday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. A.S. Badger of the Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. C.N. Patterson of the Baptist church and Rev. Jacob Patch of the Presbyterian church, retired. Several appropriate hymns were sung by Mrs. C.B. Baker, Miss Smith and W.B. Buckingham. The pallbearers were Frank Skeel, Allen Patch, Will Parks, Will Gee, E.M. Hungerford and Frank Kronk. Among those from out of town, who attended the funeral, were Mr. and Mrs. Lange, father andMother of Mrs. Green, and daughter, Miss Emma of Montello; Marcellus Winkler and sons, Elmer and Norman, of Lanark; Mr. and Mrs. Jud Winkler and Mrs. J.B. Green of Farmington, Waupaca county. Marcellus and Jud Winkler are uncles and Mr. and Mrs. Green the grand-parents of the deceased. There was a large body of Maccabees present, and the funeral was conducted under their auspices. The floraal offerings were many and beautiful.
