Clipping from Stevens Point Weekly Journal 07 December 1901 Submitted by Rick Campen Mrs. Carl Lange Death of a Resident on the West Side Mrs. Carl Lange died at her home on Superior Avenue near the north city limits at 1:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon after an illness of ten days with a complication of diseases. Miss Wilhelmina A. Moldenhauer was born at Sandhoff, Germany, on Nov. 7, 1844, but came to this country when a young woman with her parents, who settled in DePere. She was married in the latter city on Feb. 12, 1874, to Carl Lange. They removed to this city in 1883 and have resided on the west side ever since. She is survived by her husband, four children and three step-children. Her own children are August of this city, William of Seattle and Misses Anna and Minnie who live at home. The step-children arc Fred of West Superior, Louis of DePere and Mrs. George O’Brien of Auburndale. She also leaves a mother, Mr. John Moldenhauer of Auburndale and three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. August Moerke and Mrs. August Kothlow of Auburndale. Mrs. Anna ,Baker of Redding, Ore., August Moldenhauer of Rochester, Wash., and William Moldenhauer of Randolph, Wis. The deceased was devout member of the Lutheran church and is spoken of by her neighbors as a true Christian woman, of noble character and high deals in morality, justice and charity. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. There was a prayer at the house at 1:30 o'clock, and service at St. Paul's Lutheran church on Center street at 2 o'clock. Rev. Carl Schmidt officiated. The interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery on Patch street.
