Obituary: Portage County, Wisconsin: Mrs. John McGOWN
Stevens Point Journal Feb. 2, 1899

Mrs. John McGown, another of the old residents of Plover, died Wednesday 
afternoon of paralysis, aged about 50 years.  She suffered a stroke of 
paralysis about three weeks ago and had steadily declined ever since.  
She was a woman highly respected in her community. 

The funeral will be held from the house at 10 o'clock Friday morning, 
Rev. Mr. Kent officiating.
