Sylvia A. PHILLIPS Church - OBITUARY - Portage Co., Wisconsin This obituary appeared in the Stevens Point newspaper on Thursday, January 13, 1921: Mrs. George W. CHURCH, a resident of the town of Linwood for twelve years, died at the home of her son, Milan CHURCH, 114 St. Louis avenue, at 2:30 o'clock this morning following an illness of three years. Mrs. CHURCH was stricken with paralysis about three years ago and since then had been practically helpless. She came to her son's home to spend the holidays, and while there her condition became worse. A week ago she suffered another paralytic stroke which caused her death. Funeral services will be conducted from the Milan CHURCH residence at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. James BLAKE officiating, and burial following in Forest cemetery, beside the late husband of the deceased who died on Nov. 18, 1920. "The deceased, whose maiden name was Miss Sylvia A. PHILLIPS, was born in Bown county on February 7, 1858. On May 24, 1877, she was married to Mr. CHURCH and of this union ten children were born, all of whom are living. Twelve years ago the family removed to the town of Linwood. The late Mrs. Church leaves the following children: "Morey of Iron Mountain, MI, Mrs. William MARTIN of Appleton, Mrs. Marshall MORSETTE of DePere, Milan of this city, Clarence of the town of Linwood, Mrs. N. L. ROPP of Anoka, MN, Mrs. Jule NOTH of DePere, Mrs. Robert FROST of the town of Linwood, Mrs. Charles YETTER of Pittsville and Mrs. Oscar GEE of Hancock.
