Baker passed away at his home in the Town of Kennan, Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 5:30 a.m. at the age of 75 years, 2 months, 7 days. Mr. Baker was born in Harrisburg, Ky., June 6, 1865. He was married to Lydia A. Burns in KY in 1885 and to them were born 3 children. His first wife died in 1890 and in 1891 he married Delia Lee in Illinois and to them were born 13 children, 10 of whom survive. The family moved to Price County in 1920, locating 5 miles north of the Village of Kennan, where Mr. Baker followed the farming occupation. He was well liked by all of his neighbors and other friends, and his death is mourned by many. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Ross, will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2:30 from the Methodist Church in Kennan. Burial will be in the Kennan cemetery. Surviving relatives include his wife, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Fred Kaufman, Bloomington, IL, Edgar, Ravenna, Mich; Mrs. Jesse LaMaster, Waterloo, IA; Mrs. James Campbell, Ralph, Kennan; Leo, Long Beach CA; Mrs. Maurice Hudson, Osage, IA; Clifford, Hawkins; Bertram, Kennan; Homer, Chicago. One brother, Dee Baker, resides in Harrodsburg, Ky. Three sons preceded their father in death. The sympathy of many friends is extended to relatives in their sorrow.
