Obituary from The Phillips Bee, March 10, 1932, page 1:

Mrs. Lena Bartelt, age 72 years, 1 month, and 9 days, died at the home of her 
son Henry in the village of Kennan Thursday, March 3, after an illness of 
nearly  two years.  She came to this country sixty years ago at the age of 12 
years, from Germany.  Thirty years ago she moved here from Lomira and has 
since made her home here.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. R. Neitzel from the home and from 
the German Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Burial was made in 
the Kennan cemetery.
She is survived by three children - Henry of Kennan, Mrs. Fred Fiebig of 
Hawkins and Mrs. Martha Giese of Lomira and 15 grandchildren and 15 great 
grandchildren.
We join with the large circle of friends in extending sympathy to the family.
