He had been an employee at the Northern Sash and Door Company for many years before illness forced him to quit work. Mr. Fiebig was born in Germany on February 26, 1874, the son of Herman and Caroline Fiebig. At the age of nine years, he came to this country with his parents and settled in Canada, then coming to Kennan. On September 23, 1902, he was married at Kennan and in 1924 came to Hawkins. At the time of his death he was 71 years, eight months and 29 days. Surviving him are six children: Mrs. Clifford Baker (Alma) of Hawkins; Mrs. Bet (sic) Baker (Florence) of Catawba; Ms. Roy Karenke (Della) of Warren, Ohio; Cpl. Arnold Fiebig of Camp Crowder, Missouri; Albert Fiebig of Hawkins; and Cpl Irwin Fiebig, who is in Europe; besides two sisters, Mrs. Van Syckle of Cosmopolis, Washington, and Anna Nystrom, Havre, Montana; and one brother, Julius Fiebig, Alma, Michigan. His wife preceded him in death in July, 1941. Services were conducted at the Bethel Lutheran church in Hawkins with Rev. C. O. Aaker officiating clergyman. Burial was made in the Kennan cemetery. Pallbearers were Gust Burkman, John Hoyt, George Odell, Edward Austad, Chris Viken and Hans Martinson.
