She was born April 22, 1934, in the town of Spirit, to Carl and Olive (Jones) Wicks. She grew up in Michigan and Chicago. She was married to Owen Chester Meier on April 7, 1951, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Parsonage, Rib Lake. Soon after, the couple moved to Minnesota and lived in Forest Center, Minn., from 1952 until 1964. The family then moved to Winneconne in 1966 where they lived until 1989. While living in Minnesota and Winneconne, she worked as a babysitter. They then moved back to her husband's family homestead in the town of Spirit where they have lived ever since. She enjoyed her flower garden, reading, word puzzles and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Owen; by four children, Doreen (Keith) Johnson, Winneconne; Steven (Brenda), Omro; Kevin (Lisa), Almond; and Stacey (Terry) Carlson, Oshkosh; by nine grandsons and one granddaughter; and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; by three half brothers; by one half sister; by twin sons David and Dale; and by one grandson Brent Meier. A graveside service with interment to follow will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Spirit with Rev. Michael Meier officiating.
