Born May 25, 1961, in Tomahawk, to Harvey and Bonnie (Nee;Vail) Rhody, he was a 1979 graduate of Rib Lake High School. He attended UW-Platteville, where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was currently employed for the past 13 years as a painter for Harley-Davidson in Tomahawk and was a certified firefighter for the Harley-Davidson Emergency Response Unit. Dean also currently owned and operated Maple Ridge Farms, which is a multi-faceted enterprise that includes a beef cow/calf operation, custom forage harvesting and forest management. He was involved in public speaking competitions for 10 years while in school and in 4-H. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts, music-listening as well as singing, traveling, especially on back roads and riding his Harley. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, past- president of the Tomahawk Sunday Night Dart League, member of the PACE Union Local #7-0460 serving twice as union steward, member of HOG and was currently a member of the Land Use Committee for the Town of Spirit. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Spirit with Rev. Roger Sloan officiating. A gathering will be Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Spirit. Mr. Rhody is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Donna Rhody and her husband Mac Marland, Monte Sereno, Calif.; special friend, Nancy Bushar, town of Spirit; former spouse, Lynn Burnett-Archer; and aunts, uncles, many cousins and many special friends throughout the US and other countries. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Hospice of Taylor County.
