Tarr Melvin E. Tarr, for many years a resident of Fifield, passed away August 14th at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 3 days. Funeral services were conducted from the Congregational Church at Fifield, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, by the Rev. Tenity of the Phillips Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Leroy Tatroe, Henry Tatroe, E. J. Marsh, E. E. Patterson, August Priebe, and Carl Priebe. The remains were laid to rest in the Forest Home Cemetery, Fifield. The deceased was born at Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, September 10, 1863. He was united in marriage to Miss Hattie Fassbender at Fifield, in 1898. They lived in Park Falls for a short time and spent the rest of their married life in Fifield. Mrs. Hattie Tarr preceded her husband in death in 1926. Surviving are the following four daughters and one son: Mrs. E. Y. Cutler (DeEtte), Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Edwin Cartwright (Bernice), Waupaca, Wis.; Mrs. Ernest Swift (Rosalia), Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Lewis Ambers (Lilah), Wing, North Dakota; and Sherburn Tarr of Chicago.
