OBITUARY

Robert Blackburn, a veteran of the 
civil war and well known in this 
city, died at his home in Union 
Grove Sunday morning, aged 74 
years. Deceased was born in 
Bradford, Yorkshire, England, and 
came to this country when quite 
young, making his home in Paris 
Kenosha county where he was 
married fifty-two years ago to 
Miss Mary Murgatroyd. There were 
eight children by the union, of 
which seven still survived to 
comfort their aged mother. They 
are Frank of Union Grove, Winfield 
of Kansas, Henry of Union Grove, 
George of Somers, Kenosha county, 
Fred of Kansas, John of Union 
Grove, and Mrs. Cora Rosedale of 
Union Grove. He was a member of 
the George B. Lincoln Post No.213 
G.A.R. of Union Grove, where he 
had resided during the past four 
years. Previous to that time he 
resided for more than fifty years 
within a few miles of that 
village. The funeral will take 
place on Tuesday afternoon at 2. 
o'clock from the Congregational 
Church in Union Grove.
