Oct 26, 1866, found in The Journal, a weekly news-
paper for Racine and Racine County.

DIED - In Mt Pleasant on the 19th inst., Barton H.
Phelps aged 24 years.  And this should be his
epitaph: "An affectionate and dutiful son, a devoted
husband, a brave and gallant soldier."
