Passed away April 1 at his residence following a long illness. Mr. Kopitzke was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., on April 8, 1878, and had lived in Racine for the past 65 years. On October 25, 1894, he was married to the former Katherine Rasmussen. Before his retirement 10 years ago, he had been employed by the Wisconsin Polishing and Plating Co. for 25 years. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church on Park Avenue for over 50 years and was a very active member, also a member of McDonald Lodge No. 137 1.0.0.F a charter member of Success Rebekah Lodge No. 216, Masonic Lodge No. 92 and Modern Woodman. Surviving are his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Forsman: one son-in law, Adolph Forsman; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Lahr of Juda, Wis.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2 p.m., in the Greenwood Funeral Home, 1003 Fourteenth St., Rev. Melvin A. Simonsen officiating. Burial will be in the Family Plot in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home this afternoon after 4 o’clock and until the time of services on Tuesday.
