Petrie died at her home on Washington Street at 8 o'clock on Wednesday evening. She had suffered greatly from cancer for a long time and death came as a gentle relief. Adelheide Weygand was born in Burlington, January 9, 1855 and had always made this her home. On January 9, 1889 she was united in marriage with M.P. Petrie, who with a daughter and one son are left to mourn the death of a good wife and fond mother. Mrs. Petrie was a woman of wide acquaintance and counted as her friends all who knew her. Hers was a genial disposition and she was never happier then when those about her were happy. She leaves besides her family; her father, two sisters, and two brothers; all residing here. To the sorrowing ones, our people extend sincere sympathy. Funeral was at St. Mary's Catholic Church; officiat, Rev. T. Jacobs. The Teutonia Society attended in body. Mr. Petrie is president of that society.
