DEATH OF MRS. TILTON 
Bad News of the Death of Mrs. William Tilton Received 
Today. This morning the sad news reached this city that 
Mrs.
Elizabeth Tilton, beloved wife of Conductor William 
Tilton, of the Chicago, Milwaukee &  St. Paul railroad, 
was dead, she having died at Chicago during last night. 
Mrs. Tilton had been a sufferer from internal tumor and 
went to Chicago for the purpose ol having an operation 
performed. The operation WAS performed on Tuesday and she 
survived it until last night when death resulted.nMr. 
Tilton was with his wife at the time she died. Deceased 
was 43 years of age. Her maiden name was Miss Elizabeth 
Yates and she was a sister of Mrs. David Lawton, Samuel 
Yates and Thomas Yates, both former residents of this 
city. She was a very handsome and lovable woman. She had 
lived in this city the most of her life and everybody 
loved and respected ber for her many noble qualities. The 
body will arrive here at 5 o'clock this afternoon. Time 
of funeral will be announced. The husband will have the 
heartfelt sympathy of his many friends in this his sad 
hour of affliction.
