The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Surnames: FROST, BOTTOMLEY, GOODER, BURNS From the newspaper, Burlington Free Press, Racine County, Wisconsin; dated 12/5/1918 titled, "Death of Thomas Bottomley" Thomas Bottomley, a pioneer resident died at his home in this city last evening of old age after being in feeble health for some time past. The funeral will be held from the English Settlement Church on Friday afternoon, 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Bottomley was born in Yorkshire, England on September 12, 1842. He came to America with his parents when 3 years of age, making their home at the English settlement. He married on May 27, 1863 to Amelia A. Frost of the town of Rochester, Wisconsin. They celebrated their golden anniversary in 1913. They went into housekeeping at once, and have always made their home in this vicinity with the exception of 2 years spent in Kansas. They have resided in Burlington since 1892. The deceased is survived by his wife, two sons, Dr. C.E. Bottomley and Newton Bottomley of Burlington. Two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Gooder of McIntyre, Iowa, and Mrs. M.E. Burns of English Settlement.
