Myra Yates was born near Racine, Wis, Dec. 9, 1863, and died at this place. Feb. 16 1898. She was married to Mr.J.W. Payne. Nov.25. 1886, Mrs.Payne always enjoyed good health until about one year ago when a severe cold seemed to bring on consumption. Though advised by her physician not to come south, set without doubt. So doing lengthend her life and gave her little family more of her earthly company. But last Wednesday afternoon at 5 o’clock her spirit was borne silently away and her sorrowing husband and two little boys left alone in their sorrow. Her father and one sister and mother and two brothers also survive her. One of the brothers James Yates of Sylvania, Wis., arrived on Thursday. He will remain until Mr. Payne can complete his arrangements for returning to Wisconsin when the remains which has been placed in a specially constructed vault will be taken to their former home, at Racine. Mrs. Payne was a communicant of the M.E. Church, and died in the hope of arising again to walk in newness of life. The call desires to extend to the relatives and friends its sympathy in this dark hour.
