Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Josiah CARPENTER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY In the passing of Josiah Carpenter there goes from among the old settlers of Rock County, a man who will be sadly missed by those who have known and loved him for many years, both when he lived in the country and since he moved to this city, twelve years ago. Mr. Carpetner was born in the State of New York, in June, 1852, settling at an early age with his parents in the town of Magnolia, where he resided till he moved to this city, twelve years ago. At the age of twenty-four years he was united in marriage to Miss Cora Wood, of Trempealeau. To this union there was born six children, as follows: Mrs. Charles Merrick, Allen and Ray Carpenter, Mrs. Edward Hall and Mrs. Floyd Heffell, all of Evansville, and Mrs. Ray Holden, Center. He also leaves a sister, Mr. Irwin Winter, of Sioux Falls, So. Dak. The funeral services will be held from the home at 2:00 Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. A. W. Stephens.
