Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Jane CARVILLE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ DIED CARVILLE. At her home in the town of London, Mower County, Minn., Oct. 29, 1893, after a long illness, Mrs. Jane Carville, wife of Alexander Carville, aged 70 years. The deceased was formerly a resident of the town of Union, this county, where the family settled in the early 50's and her death will be deeply regretted by many of the older citizens of that town, who remember her as a charitable woman and a kind and considerate neighbor, always ready to assist in times of sickness and distress. Eighteen years ago, she removed to Minnesota, where she has since resided. Her final sickness was of eight years duration, being afflicted with what was termed creeping paralysis, and during the greater portion of the time was entirely helpless. During the long period of her illness, she received the devoted care and attention of her two daughters, and other members of her family, and the patience and fortitude with which she bore her long suffering greatly endeared her to all who were familiar with the circumstances of her protracted illness. She leaves a husband and five children, several grandchildren and one great grandchild to mourn the loss of an affectionate and faithful wife, and a kind and indulgent mother. The funeral was held on Tuesday, Oct. 31st, and was largely attended. Among other old Wisconsin neighbors, who are now residents of Minnesota, the following were present: Robert M. Boyd and wife, John Robinson and wife, John and James McCormick and wives, Miss May Smith, J. Connors and wife, John Manning and wife, Mrs. Farrell and daughter and others. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the cemetery at Austin, beside those of a daughter who had preceded her to the grave a short time before.
