BERTHA CORNELL Succumbs Here Sunday Following Lingering Illness; Buried in Sioux Falls, S. D. Mrs. Bertha CORNELL, 65, a resident of Evansville for the past 17 years, died in her home here at 6:30 p.m. Friday following a stroke of paralysis 14 months ago. She had been an invalid for some time and had been failing in health for the past 15 years. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Baptist church with Rev. Robert H. Pratt officiating. The body was sent to Sioux Falls, S. Dakota for burial Monday and was accompanied by William CORNELL. Mrs. Cornell, formerly Bertha Schultz, was born in Prairie du Chien June 1, 1864 where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to William A. Cornell, Sioux Falls, S. D., 40 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Cornell lived in Sioux Falls until 1910 when they located at Wauzeka, Wis. Mr. Cornell, chief clerk in the Catarack hospital, Sioux Falls, for 30 years, died Aug. 8, 1911. Mrs. Cornell moved to Evansvill with her sister, Miss Anna Schultz, and son, William 17 years ago and has made her home here since that time. She was a member of the Presbyterian church but attended the local Baptist church. She is survived by her son, William, assistant principal of the Reeedsburg High School, and two sisters, Miss Anna Schultz, Evansville, and Mrs. Carolin Kessler, Bridgeport, Wis.
