Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Michael DUNPHY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ The death of Michael Dunphy a high respected citizen of this vicinity occurred at his farm home 7 miles South West of this city on Jan. 28th, after an illness of several years duration. Mr. Dunphy was born in Tipperary Co., Ireland, May 25th, 1845 and came with his parents to the U. S. in 1847. The family locating on the farm adjoining his own and still occupied by brother Thos. He was married Feb. 16, 1874 to Margaret Maloy who with 12 children survive him, Thos. Richard, Joseph, Francis, James, Charles, and Genevieve residing at home. Al. of Albany, Mrs. D. F. Finnane, Mrs. Martin Croak and Mrs. Ed. Moore of Evansville and Mrs. P. F. Ryan of Footville, he also leaves 27 grandchildren, his brother Thos. of Evansville, John of Denver Colo. and a sister, Mrs. P. H. Lyons of Bayard, Iowa. Funeral services were held from the home at 9:30 and from St. Patricks Catholic Church at Albany at 10:30 Friday morning. Rev. Mr. Mauser officiating. Interment being in Calvary cemetery.
