JANES ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY Mr. H. L. Janes finally passed away at about 7 o'clock Wednesday moring, after lying completely unconscious from Sunday night, without any apparently recognition of family or friends, who gathered about his bed. His remains were taken Friday morning via Madison to Milton Junction, whence they were met by friends and taken to Johnstown, a former residence, for interment. Mr. Janes was a member of the Free Baptist church here, but owning to poor health, could not identify himself with its interests, only to limited extent. The wife and two daughters remain worthy members of society here and who have the consolation of numerous friends in their bereavement. He was taking a coffin to inclose the last remains of our townsman, Mr. H. L. Janes, who was removed to Johnstown for interment. March 15, 1876, Evansville Review, p. 2, col. 1, Evansville, Wisconsin
