Moore, in this city on Friday, March 22, 1901, at the age of 82 years. He was born April 16, 1819 in Rhode Island. In 1838 he came west and settled on a farm near Janesville, where he resided until 1885 when he moved to this city. He leaves three children; Fred, of Freeport, Ill., Will and Mrs. Chas. Moore, both of this city, to mourn his death. The funeral services were held a the home on last Sunday afternoon, Rev. Miner officiating. The I.O.O.F. Lodge of this city, of which the deceased was a member, turned out in full numbers to pay their respect to their deceased brother; several of the Order from surrounding towns were present. The family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The following from out of town attended the funeral: Will Grove, Richard Hepp, Mrs. Main and son, of Janesville, H. C. D. The deceased has been for the past six years a familiar figure upon our streets having made his home iwth his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Moore. Previous to his residence here he lived near Janesville to which place he moved from Rhode Island when eighteen years of age. Mr. King had a genial disposition which won for him many friends.
