Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: George MOFFITT ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Killed by Bronchos While leading a pair of bronchos to the drinking fountain in Beloit Saturday, George Moffitt was instantly killed. It seems that he tied the two halter straps together and when the bronchos became frightened over the approach of a street car, began to run, and in some way crossed the leading straps around Moffitt's body and dragged him to death. He was kicked and pounded by both horses and paving stones till all semblance of a human being was nearly obliterated. No human aid could be rendered the unfortunate man till the animals were finally corralled. Mr. Moffit was a man of forty years, and leaves a mother, five brothers and five sisters.
