S. Plaisted, who has been a resident of this city for many years past, was called away from all earthly cares on Tuesday, April 18, 1899, of cancer, aged 76 years. Mr. Plaisted has suffered much from that terrible and much dreaded human ailment, but with all his suffering and knowing that death would be the ultimate result, he bore it bravely until death ended his suffering. The funeral services were held at the house today at 2 o'clock, p.m., Rev. Short officiating. The Masonic order of which the deceased was a member for many years, took charge of the services at the grave. April 20, 1899, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin Mr. G. S. Plaisted, aged 76 years departed this life at his home in this city on Tuesday evening April 18, 1899 after long suffering from cancer. Mr. Plaisted was one of the best known resident of this city, having been one of its first settlerse, and engaged in the boot and show business for many long years; a prominent democrat politician well known in this capacity throughout the state. He leaves a faithful wife, and her only son Mr. Clark Morse, now a resident of Stoughton. Funeral at the home Thursday afternoon under the auspices of the Masonic Order of which he was a prominent member. April 21, 1899, The Enterprise, Evansville, Wisconsin Obituary Died: At his home in this city, Tuesday, April 18, '99, Mr. Geo. S. Plaisted, aged 76 years. Mr. Plaisted has made Evnasville his home for over 38 years and was held in high esteem by all. His life has been one of quiet industry that has commended itself to everyone. Some time since he became aware that he had a cancerous affection and all that medical skill could do for him has been done. His past few months have been spent in great suffering. The funeral occurred from the house Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. W. M. Short officiating. Among those who were here from out of town were Mrs. A. B. Heimstreet of Janesville and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Morse of Stoughton, and a brother of Mrs. Plaisted's with his four daughters from Beloit. April 22, 1899, The Badger, Evansville, Wisconsin
