SCHNEIDER ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Henry C. Schneider, formerly Miss Nellie J. Bacon, of Chelsea, Michigan, died at her home in this city, Sunday, Dec. 18, 1904, leaving twins, a son and daughter, but a few hours old. The deceased became first known in Evansville as a teacher in our city schools and soon gathered around her a wide circle of warm friends. She resigned her position, to return to Evansville a bride, in Oct. 1903, and took up her residence at the corner of Liberty and Third streets, which has since been her home. Mr. Schneider is superintendent of the Baker Mfg. shops, a skilled engineer, having graduated with high honors recently from Wisconsin University. In church circles and in our social life this young couple have won many friends who mourn this death. l The funeral was held from the house, the shop employees acting as guard of honor, escoring the cortege to the station, from whence it took its departure, Tuesday afternoon at 3:24, for Chelsea.
