Sloan, 80 of Evansville area died Satruday morning, April 7, unexpectedly in Montford where he was visitng his son-in-law and daughter, the Rev. and Mrs. James Hagen. Mr. Sloan was born in Milwaukee, September 26, 1892. He married Esther Reese of Evansville, Oct. 17, 1922, and the couple farmed in Center Township until he retired in 1959. Mrs. Sloan died April 9, 1965. Mr. Sloan was a member of the Footville United Methodist Church. The survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Hagen of Montford; Mrs. Donald Klitzman, Rte. 1, Evansville, and Mrs. Robert Leitz, Milford, Ill., and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services arranged by the Ward Funeral Home, were held Tuesday morning in the church at Footville, with the Rev. Harold Green officiating and burial was in Maple Hill cemetry, Evansville. April 12, 1972, Evansville REview, p. 2, col. 3, Evansville, Wisconsin Mrs. Thomas Sloan Dies Friday, April 9 Mrs. Thomas A. Sloan, 64, Bullard Road, rural Evansville, died Friday of last week in her home after a long illness. The former Esther J. Reese was born Mar. 15, 1901, in Evansville, the daughter of John B. and Anna Reese, and was a life-long area resident. On Oct. 17, 1922, she was married to Thomas A. Sloan and they farmed in Center Townsip until moving to their present farm about seven years ago. Mrs. Sloan was an active member of the Footville Methodist Church and WSCS and a member and officer the past three years of the Janesville District WSCS. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. R. James Hagen, Spencer, Mrs. Donald Klitzman, Evansville, and Mrs. Robert Leitz, Milford, Ill. eight grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Colden, Madison and Louis Reese, Evansville; and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Sarow and Mrs. Robert Richardson, both of Evansville. Services were arranged by the Roderick-Ward Funeral Home and were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Footville Methodist Church the Rev. Richard Davis officiating assisted by Rev. Donald Francis and Rev. R. James Hagen. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansvile Pall bearers were Warren Sarow, Clarence Ostrander, Charles Easton, Alva Selck, Claude Miller and Howard Miller.
