Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Jerome ANDREWS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Jerome Andrews, third son of John Cain and Sarah Wright Andrews, was born in the township of Argyle, La Fayette County, Wisconsin, Nov. 30, 1858. He came with the family to Evansville in 1868, and made this his home during his youth and young manhood. Later he joined his older brother and father in their South Dakota enterprise, where he lived for several years. From there he went to Wyoming and bought a horse ranch which he managed for some years. He was among the gold seekers who went to Alaska and helped to develop the well-known El Dorado. Since then his home has been in the State of Washington, Puget Sound Islands. A year ago he bought a small ranch near Kent, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. Mr. Andrews died December 5, at Providence Hospital, Seattle, of pneumonia. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katherine Brown Andrews, and a daughter, Miss Ethel, together with two sisters, Miss Andrews of this city and Mrs. Edward L. Buckwalter of Springfield, Ohio. The funeral service was read December 15, at Seattle by Canon Bliss of the Episcopal Cathedral of that city. The remains were accompanied east by the sisters who were joined in Milwaukee by their cousins, Dr. and Mrs. Wright, arriving here Monday afternoon.
