Eddie Bennett is quite sick of a bilious fever, with symptons of typhoid if the former is not soon removed. November 18, 1882, Evansville Review, p. 3, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin DIED BENNETT--Died in his 31st year, Edwin A. Bennett, eldest son ofHon. I. M. and Hannah Bennett, November 17, 1882. His sickness was short, but disease took an unyielding grip of his apparently vigorous constitution, and in scarcely more than a week's time, he passed over to the unknown and untried beyond. He expressed no regrets, in conversation with his father a few days before his death, that his end was approaching. His two younger brothers were telegramed for at Ft. Collins, Col., and who arrived on the 4:10 p.m. train Tuesday. The funeral was held at the Episcopal church Wednesday at 2 p.m., services conducted by Rev. Mr. Boyce, of Beloit. Besides the family and relatives, a large collection of citizens and friends followed his remains to the grave. Evansville Lodge F. & A. M. was out in a body, assisted by members from Janesville and Cooksville lodges. The exercises at the grave were conducted by Mr. Fenner Kimball, of Janesville.
