Black, who was formerly engaged in the lumber business here, died Tuesday morning at his home in Montello, where he had been engaged in the lumber business. Mr. Black was born in Sterling, Ill., July 5, 1861. On October 7, 1893, he was united in marraige to Miss Ada Hanover, of Evansville. To them a son, Perry, was born. Death followed an operation for appendicitis. He is survived by his widow and son. The remains, accompanied by James Robb, John Murphy and Charles Brown, were brought here Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 at the residence of Ben Griffith, a brother-in-law of the deceased, Rev. Coon officiating. "Our mother a short time ago passed to the wrold beyond to prepare a home for her only son--now may they live happy for years to come for the prayers of his wife and only son."
