Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Charles Summer BROOKS ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Charles Summer Brooks, aged 47, died at his home in this city Monday, after a week's illness caused by Flu Pneumonia. Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, he there grew to manhood, in 1896 uniting in marriage to Miss Minnie Thomas, of Burnet, they making their home at Waupun, later moving to Fond du Lac and later to Evansville, where he has since been employed as engineer for the D. E. Wood Butter Co. Mr. Brooks saw service in the Spanish-American war as a volunteer later joining the regular army where he saw service on the Mexican border just prior to the World War. The funeral services will be held at the Baptist church this afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. Pratt, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
