Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: May CALDWELL ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Little May Caldwell, the ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Caldwell, of the town of Porter, passed away at two o'clock Tuesday morning, Jan. 9, 1906, of appendicitis. She had been ill for the past month, but was not considered dangerously ill until a few days before her death. Besides her parents, she leaves a brother and a little sister. The funeral services were held at the late home on Thursday forenoon at 10:00 o'clock, Rev. M. G. Argus of this city offciating; Mrs. C. E. Copeland sang a couple of beautiful selections. Miss Martha Carson, teacher of the district school where May attended, and her school friends attended the funeral in a body. Mrs. Eliza Aldrich grandmother of the deceased, Jas. Caldwell and wife, Alec Caldwell and daughter, Mrs. Ella Woodring, all of Janesville and the Misses Harris of this city. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Janesville.
