A. Chapin died at the home of her son. O. D. P. Chapin, in Evansville, on Tuesday evening, Dec. 5, at the midnight hour. Her maiden name was Orline Anna Pease, she was born in Hartford, Conn., July 21st, 1833; her girlhood days were spent in Windsor, Conn; she was the daughter of Walter and Olive Denslow Pease. In 1849 she came to Wisconsin, settling at Watertown with her father, sister and brothers, residing there until the time of her marriage in June, 1861, to George L. Chapin of Jefferson, Wis., when with her husband she took up her residence in that city. Two children came to bless the union, Oliver D. P., born in 1862, now residing in this city, and Hattie May, born in 1864, who preceeded her mother to the better land at the close of her seventeenth year. Mr. Chapin passed away in 1895. In March 1902, the decedent moved with her son and his family to Fort Atkinson where she resided one year, afterwards coming to Evansville, making her home with her son until the time of her translation. She was a most patient sufferer and lived a beautiful life of trust in God; for a number of years she was on the faculty of the Watertown high school, and for many years a very faithful communicant of the Methodist Episcopal church, uniting with it in early life.
