Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Annis COOK ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Death of Mrs. Annis cook Annis, widow of Charles F. Cook, deceased, died Dec. 30th, 1883, at her residence. She was born in Candargus, Ontario County, N. Y., Nov. 14, 1815 and was the daughter of Enos and Louisa Hawley. She was married to Mr. Cook Nov. 30th, 1837. Emigrated to Wisconsin about the year 1843 and settled in the town of Plymouth in Rock County, and finally with her husband and son some 14 years ago settled at Footville, where both her husband and son J. C. Cook, departed this life, the former Jan. 21st, 1877, and the latter July 19, 1881, leaving her lonely in this vain world. She is the last of the charter members of the Congregational church in the town of Center of which she was a consistent member. Rev. Fowle, pastor of said church preached a very appropriate sermon on the occasion of the funeral, at the said church, Jan. 1, '84 when she was laid to rest silently by the side of her husband to await the resurrection morn. Peace to her ashes. January 4, 1884, p. 1, col. 2, Evansville Review, Evansville, Wisconsin
