Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Ervin Bowen COX ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY ERVIN BOWEN COX Mr. Ervin Bowen Cox, aged 49, died at his home in Evansville Friday July 25, 1924, of paresis after an illness of seven weeks. Mr. Cox was born on a farm at Magnolia October 31st, 1874, where he lived until 13 years ago, when he and his wife moved to Evansville. He was married to Miss Margie Jones of Baraboo February 8th, 1902, who with the mother and two sisters survive. Mr. Cox was of a sunshiny, cheerful disposition, always willing to go out of his way, if necessary to do a favor for a friend. He loved the big out-of-doors and all animals were his friends. The funeral services were held at the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon, the Reverend Osgood of Brodhead officiating. The local lodges of the Odd Fellows, Woodmen and Royal Neighbors of which the deceased was a member, were in attendance, the Odd Fellows and Woodmen marching in the funeral procession, the last sad rites at the grave being according to the beautiful and impressive ritual of the Odd Fellow lodge.
