Weekly Gazette and Free Press May 20, 1859

In Milton, May 15th, of a Cancer, at the residence of Mr.
Isaac T. Smith, her son-in-law, Mrs. Cordelia DeJean, wife
of Stephen DeJean, in the seventy-seventh year of her age.

She has seem much of the hardships of pioneer life.  With
her husband, she had assisted in the formation of four
settlesment in new countries, in the eastern and western
portions of New York, and finally in Waukesha county, in
this state, where she took up her residence nearly twenty-
two years ago.

She leaves behind her a family of ten children, and a name
for great industry and hospitality.  She bore her painful
sickness without murmuring.
