Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Mamie DOOLEY ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Scarcely 20 years old and after an illness dating back about two months Mamie Dooley was called to the world beyond on Monday evening, Sept. 21. Although everything that an indulgent and kind father and friends could do was done 'twas of no avail, as the Grim Reaper Death had marked her for his own. Mamie was an estimable young lady, a graduate of the Janesville high shcool in the class of '02 and holding a first grade certificate she spent the past year teaching, and indeed a bright career seemed before her, but the Lord willed it otherwise. The funeral was held on Thursday services being conducted in St. Patrick's church Janesville after which followed a procession a mile long of sympathising friends and relatives all that was mortal of a bright lovable girl was laid to rest in Mt. Olive Cemetery beside the mother who proceeded her but a year and a half ago. Besides her father, two sisters and three brothers are left to whom our sincere sympathy is given. Willie Dooley who is attending school in St. Paul arrived on Tuesday to atend the funeral of his sister. "Porter" news, Evansivlle Review, October 1, 1903, Evansville, Wisconsin
