Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Mary Ann EARLE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Mrs. Mary Ann Earle, widow of the late Thomas Earle, died at her home in the town of Porter, Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 1902, aged nearly 89 years. Mrs. Earle was born in Ohio in 1813 and came to Wisconsin as a bride in 1844. Her maiden name was Mary Ann Waters and she was a school teacher of considerable prominence. Her husband was one of Rock County’s sheriffs. She was a woman of great ability and keen intelligence, and was a devoted mother, kind neighbor and true friend. She leaves five children, Mary J., and D. L., who reside on the homestead, Anna Johnson and Leander of Montana, and Emma Mordeaux of Colorado.
