(Dunbar) EASTMAN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ DEATH CLAIMS OLD RESIDENT ON MONDAY Mrs. Wallace Eastman died on Monday at her home on Cherry Street. Mrs. Eastman was born October 17, 1839, at Seneca, Ontario county, N. Y. Her maiden name was Ann E. Dunbar. When nine years of age, her parents moved west and settled on a farm near Janesville. On February 20, 1855, Miss Dunbar was married to William Wallace Eastman. To this union two children were born, Mary and Buron, both of whom live to mourn their parent's loss, for the father died four years ago. Had Mrs. Eastman lived to the seventeenth of next month, she would have been seventy-seven years of age. For eight months she had been a sufferer to which death came as a relief. Two children; four grandchildren, a great granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. Maria Carr of Templeton, Cal. and a number of nieces and nephews mourn her departure. Services will be held at her late home this afternoon, at 1:30, Dr. Wm. P. Pearce, of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment at Maple Hill cemetery, Evansville Review, September 28, 1916, p. 1, col. 2, Evansville, Wisconsin
