Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Hial and Polly EASTMAN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Obituary Hial Eastman and Wife Died at Magnolia, Rock County, Wisconsin, Oct. 4th, 1887, Mr. Hial Eastman in the 79th year of his age. Also Polly, his wife, on the same day. Mr. Eastman was born at Bennington, Genesee county, N. Y. Feb. 24, 1809. Polly his wife, was born at Attica, Genesee County, N. Y., June 3d, 1809. They were married at Attica, N. Y., in 1830, residing there till about 1845, when they moved to Canada, remaining there about a year and a half, and then returned to Attica, N. Y., living there till 1849, and then moved to Magnolia, Wis., where they lived until the day of their death. They were both members of the church, and were devout christians for upwards of 40 years. Eight children were born to them, six sons and two daughters, only one son survives them. Their daughter Mary died in Canada, April 20th, 1845, aged 14 years and 9 months. Ambrose died at Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 20th, 1863, aged 18 years and 7 months. Joseph S. died at Magnolia, Wis., Nov. 18th, 1867, aged 28 years and 10 months. James B., died at Magnolia, Dec. 27th, 1886, aged 33 years and 5 months. Francis M. died at Magnolia, Nov. 21, 1868, aged 18 years and 8 months. Edward M. died in Minn., July 26th, 1869, aged 38 years and 6 days. Lois Casford died at Magnolia, Sept. 11th, 1871, aged 28 years and 4 months. This aged couple were born in the same year, in the same state, in the same country, and lived together as husband and wife for 57 years, dying on the same day, there being but 11 hours and 35 minutes difference in the time of their deaths, and were buried in the same grave.
