Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Betsy ELERT ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ The death messenger has again cast the shroud of gloom over our city by taking Betsy, the dearly beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Elert from our midst. She was born in Germany May 2, 1866 and died in Evansville, June 21, 1911, of cancer. The greater part of her life was spent in Center from whence she came to Evansville ten years ago. Betsy strew many a rose across the way of friends and neighbors. Her life was full of hope and cheer. During the long months of her suffering she never grew weary nor did she complain. The cross was never too heavy. She knew what it meant to find refuge in Jesus. Her end came quietly and peacefully. She is now resting in peace. Besides the bereaved parents, she leaves to mourn her demise two sisters, Mrs. Owen Conrad, Evansville, and Mrs. Anna Zickert, Beloit, and five brothers, Wm., and Louis, Madison, Fred, Peshtigo, Charles, Center, and Ed of Evansville. The funeral will be held at the home Friday 2 p.m. The interment will be in Maple Hill, Rev. H. J. Kohlhepp officiating, and her five brothers and Frank Kulz acting as pall bearers.
