The deceased had been in failing health for some time past. He was one of the early settlers in the town of Porter, but moved to this city several years ago. He was proprietor of the Evansville House for a few years, and has been boarding with relatives and friends since the death of his wife, aobut four years ago. He leaves one son, Edmund, Jr. of this city, and one daughter Mrs. Kate Gibbs of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, George and Henry, and four sisters, Mesdames Maria Lee, Sarah Gillman, and Clinton Scofield all of this city, and Mrs. M.
