Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Erna Grasshoff FUNK ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ LOCAL WOMAN DIES IN MADISON HOSPITAL Mrs. Milton Funk Succumbs in St. Mary's Hospital Friday After Brief Illness Mrs. Milton Funk, 30, died in St. Mary's hospital at Madison Friday noon following a week's illness from heart trouble and complications. She had been in failing health for some time. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the N. R. Funk residence, 442 Almeron Street, the Rev. T. J. Sheldon of Independence, Mo., officiating. Interment was made at Maple Hill cemetery. Mrs. Funk, formerly Miss Erna Grasshoff, was born April 17, 1898, in Berlingen, Germany. She came to this country with her parents when she was a small girl and settled near Sparta. Her parents later moved to Evansville and she was married here to Milton Funk on her birthday, April 17, 1917. Besides a host of friends, Mrs. Milton is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mildred; her mother, Mrs. Fred Grasshoff, Fellows Station; one sister, Mrs. B. C.
