Obituary: Rock County, Wisconsin: Hattie FUNK ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, June 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ LOCAL WOMAN VICTIM OF HEART DISEASE Mrs. Hattie Funk, 68, a life-long resident of this vicinity, succumbed at 7:30 a.m. Friday in the Wisconsin General hospital, Madison, from heart disease. She had been failing in health for some time and was taken to the hospital for treatment last Thursday. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Edgar Sperry residence, 229 South Madison Street, with Elder J. R. Singleterry of the Advent Christian church officiating. Burial was made in Maple Hill cemetery. Mrs. Funk, formerly Miss Hattie Ann Wright, was born July 5, 1860 in the town of Magnolia, where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Myron Sperry, town of Porter, in 1880 and settled on a farm in the Magnolia township. Mrs. Sperry died July 27, 1912 and a son Harvey died in 1909 when 24 years of age. She was married to Herman Funk, Milwaukee, several years ago and until his death in 1923, made her home in the town of Janesville. The deceased was a member of the Advent Christian church in Magnolia. Surviving are four sons, Edgar, William and Fred Sperry, this city; Louis Sperry, Madison; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Paulson, Evansville; 24 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
